The highly anticipated Pepsi University Football League 2025/26 season is set to begin this Thursday, 25th September 2025, at the newly reconstructed Hamz Nakivubo Stadium. Two exciting fixtures will mark the start of the league, as defending champions Uganda Martyrs University take on former champions Kampala University, followed by a match between ISBAT University and Kyambogo University.
A New Home for University Football
This marks the first time that the Pepsi University Football League is being played at the upgraded Nakivubo stadium, and university students are eager to support their teams in a modern, secure, and comfortable venue. With the stadium’s state-of-the-art facilities, the competition is expected to reach new heights, offering an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.
ISBAT University’s Squad for the 2025/26 Season
Ahead of the opening match, ISBAT University has unveiled their 20-man squad for the season, led by coach Edwin Haumba. With only 12 players retained from last season, the team is determined to make a mark in this year’s competition. ISBAT is aiming to progress to the knockout stages for the first time, having previously fallen short in the group stages during the last two editions.
Placed in Group C alongside Nkumba University, Busitema University, Soroti University, YMCA University, and Kyambogo University, ISBAT’s target is clear: to break into the knockout rounds and prove themselves on the national stage.
